Japhet Creek wallpaper
There are six sites in city of Houston which are less known to public. To popularize these sites each team was assigned a site to work on and come up with design ideas which prompts the site in the public. Once abounded and used as a dumping place, my team’s site Japhet Creek was restored to become a natural city site in 2005 with the help of volunteers. I went there and started to do photography. This stage included the iconography of the site which is basically meant to specify the type of the site and its neighborhood. Using iconography, I combined all of the icons as a pattern and used it to design a wallpaper. I designed a second wallpaper based on the narrative of one of the students creative writing class. His story was about the Buffalo Bend Nature Park and his experiences in three different days that he had spent there. The story begins with explaining his reluctance towards the park at the first visit but later on when he was visiting the place again with his mother everything was changed and he really liked the place.
